Beschreibung

Civil Engineering, Environment and Transportation shapes the technical environment. It designs, plans, constructs, builds and operates structures and is responsible for the infrastructure. Tasks also include the development of concepts, analysis and expertise. The work becomes evident in visible and non-visible structures, e.g. bridges, sewage treatment plants. The discipline consists of three elective catalogues, a soft skills catalogue, elective subjects and two master projects. The first elective catalogue represents the general completive basics. The second elective catalogue focuses on the subject-specific completive basics. In the third elective catalogue subject-specific elective courses must be studied. For all three elective catalogues the same system applies, i.e. students can choose courses freely from a whole range of courses. The optional courses serve the individual specialisation of the students. It is recommended to choose courses from the fields of foreign languages, social skills, technological impact assessment and women and gender studies. The two master projects must be carried out in connexion with two courses from the catalogues 1, 2 or 3 at different departments. The master thesis should be related to at least one course from the elective catalogues 2 or 3. The degree programme concludes with a master thesis and an examination before a committee, in which the master thesis is presented and defended.
