Beschreibung

Chemical and Process Engineering is a sector of production engineering which can be seen as a hybrid discipline of chemical engineering and process engineering. The title refers to the engineering science of transformation of substances where a new product results from chemical or physical transformation of a raw material. Although there are a great number of different processes and products the number of basic operations – such as distilling, shredding, etc. – is rather small. The compulsory education includes particle process technology, chemical process technology, systems engineering and process technology as well as industrial environmental engineering. Moreover, a comprehensive electives catalogue is offered, so that students can choose their specialisations according to their interests. To complete the degree programme students have to write a master’s thesis and pass an examination before a panel.
