The master’s programme offers a synthesis of natural sciences and technical knowledge and skills. The interdisciplinary programme includes the fields of alpine ecology, landscape ecology and planning, agriculture and forestry, water and waste management, geomatics as well as environmental and resources management. The offer is complemented by selected aspects of social sciences, law and economics. Students have to complete two compulsory modules – a selected topic in environmental management and the defence of the master’s thesis – and acquire 25 ECTS credits from the following elective modules: - Fundamentals of Sanitary Engineering and Waste Management - Water and Sediment Management - Waste Management - Technologies for the Management of Mountain Areas - Environmental Biotechnology - Advanced Landscape Ecology - Global Change Ecology - Stable Isotopes in Ecology - Biodiversity of Aquatic and Terrestrial Habitats - Soil Microbiology - Soil Quality and Soil Fertility – Agroecosystems - Interdisciplinary Analysis of the Environment: Situations and Problems - Interdisciplinary Excursion - Sociological Aspects in Regional Development - Natural and Water Protection in Practice - Use and Protection of Mountain Ecosystems - Quantitative Techniques and Data Analysis in Ecology - Philosophy of Science and Gender Research.
