Description

In Austria the field of Mountain Forestry includes knowledge and decision-making ability regarding all forest functions. This includes both economic use and protective functions (protection of species, water protection, soil conservation, climate) as well as the welfare and recreational function. In this respect it always follows the aim of the best possible protection of the natural resources. Since only field exercises and the master’s seminar are compulsory elements of the curriculum of this degree programme students can set a specific focus in their education by choosing courses from the modules of “Ecology”, “Economics”, “Engineering” and “Tools”. Since all courses are taught in English adequate knowledge of English is absolutely necessary. The master’s thesis must also be submitted in English.
