Description

The degree programme in Technical Mathematics deals with the basics of mathematics and their applications as well as basic knowledge in engineering and natural sciences. Students can choose topics from electrical engineering, computer sciences, physics and mechanics. The bachelor's programme in Technical Mathematics consists of compulsory subjects and modules, respectively, elective subjects to be chosen from a list, in the following areas: natural sciences and electrical engineering; theoretical and practical computer sciences; algebra, discreet mathematics and geometry; statistics and probability theory; analysis, numerics and scientific computing; and elective subjects which can be chosen freely to specialise in certain areas. The compulsory subjects include analysis and basics, analysis and applications, linear algebra, probability theory and statistics, numerical mathematics and computer mathematics, seminar and practical training and applications. To complete the programme students have to write a seminar paper within the framework of a seminar. This serves as a preparation for the bachelor's thesis.
