Description

Biological chemistry includes the areas of chemistry, biochemistry and biology. In this subject chemical and molecular biology-related ways of thinking and methods are taught and studied. The master programme consists of the approximation phase with mathematics and either chemistry or biology, depending on the student's choice, the consolidation course in chemical biology or food chemistry, the elective module broadening course and the master thesis. In both areas of concentration the consolidation course consists of bioanalytical chemistry, bioinorganic chemistry, biochemistry, bioorganic chemistry and biophysical chemistry. The groups of elective modules of the consolidation course in chemical biology consist of microbiology & genetics, immunology, molecular cell biology and biotechnology. The groups of elective modules of the consolidation course in food chemistry include applied food chemistry, food technology and food microbiology and special food chemistry.
