Description

Biological Chemistry embraces the areas of chemistry, biochemistry and biology. In this subject chemical and biomolecular ways of thinking and methods are taught. The master’s programme in Biological Chemistry includes the compulsory subjects of Fundamentals of Chemistry and Technology for Biological Chemists, Support Courses und Advanced Biology and Biochemistry. As regards the elective modules in chemistry Advanced Chemistry, Advanced Physical Chemistry and Biophysics und Structural Biochemistry are available. The elective subjects in biology include Advances in Biological Systems, Molecular and Development Biology and the Structural Biology Techniques module. The degree programme is offered together by the University of Linz and the University of Budweis. The students will study the first two semesters at the University of Linz; the third and fourth semester at the University of Budweis. A study period abroad is compulsory. The master’s programme also includes unrestricted electives and a master’s thesis.
