Description

The Mathematics study programme deals with the solution of mathematical problems in the natural sciences, technology, economics and medicine. The master's programme in Mathematics is divided into the compulsory modules of "Functional Analysis", "Numerics of Partial Differential Equations" and "Defence of the Master's Thesis". From the elective module block of "Computer Algebra, Differential Geometry and Kinematics" and "Inverse Problems and Image Processing", the elective module block of "Theory of Partial Differential Equations", "Advanced Methods of Algebra" and "Stochastic Analysis", and the elective module block of "Applied Analysis and Numerical Mathematics", "Inverse Problems, Image Processing and Kinematics", and "Applied Algebra and Discrete Mathematics" the students have to choose two modules per block. Furthermore, the students have to complete one module from the Elective Module Block of "Seminars on Applied Analysis and Numerical Mathematics", "Seminars on Inverse Problems, Image Processing and Kinematics", and "Seminars on Applied Algebra and Discrete Mathematics". To complete the course the students have to write a master's thesis and defend it.
