Description

Polymer Technologies deal with the exploration and application of physical, chemical and technical properties of polymers. The aim is to develop materials that are needed for specific applications or productions (e.g. by changing the strength, weight, etc.). The development and construction of plastics-processing machines is also taught in this study programme. The compulsory subjects of this master’s programme can be divided into two big blocks. The first block concentrates on the consolidation and analysis of essential polymer technologies according to the state of the art in this field; the second one rather imparts knowledge from the field of management, qualifying for leadership positions. Towards the end of the programme students have to write a master’s thesis focusing on polymer technologies. This is to prove the student’s ability of autonomous and correct academic dealing with a specific topic. The thesis should be planned in such a way that it can be completed successfully within six months.
