Description

The Health Sciences discipline teaches broad business administration knowledge and advanced understanding of the healthcare sector. The modular structure of the master’s programme in Health Sciences is to guarantee theoretical foundation and practice relation and a high degree of topicality of the contents of the modules. The degree programme is divided into the modules of quality management (e.g. fundamentals of quality assurance, quality assurance in hospitals), strategic business management (e.g. basics of strategic business management and corporate management), behaviour studies and communication (e.g. basics of communication, conflict management), law (e.g. labour law, hospital law), information systems in healthcare and project management (e.g. information systems – basics, types of information system management), financial management (e.g. investment management, budgeting), public health (e.g. healthcare policy, healthcare planning and preventive medicine), applied social research and methodology (e.g. methodologies, data collection techniques), empirical health research (e.g. biostatistics, epidemiology) as well as a specialisation subject. One example of a specialisation subject is “Decision-analytical modelling in healthcare and healthcare informatics”. The degree programme concludes with a master’s thesis and a final exam.
