Description

By imparting specialised knowledge and methodological skills in the relevant disciplines of the natural sciences and humanities as well as the ability to reflect and argue critically the degree programme contributes to improving the complex relationship between humans and animals. The students have to complete the following compulsory modules: - Comparative cognitive research - Comparative medicine - Animal husbandry and animal welfare as well as legal foundations of human-animal interaction - Philosophy, philosophy of science and ethics. Through experience gained in internships and exercises students are given an early insight into possible professional fields. At the same time the practical training promotes interdisciplinary skills and problem-oriented thinking.
